Erling Haaland continues to rewrite the record books for Man City, but the latest developments would suggest his future is away from the Premier League champions.

Against Sparta Prague on Wednesday evening he added another incredible finish to his repertoire of goals, with his brace meaning that he’s now scored an incredible 44 goals in 42 Champions League games.

Is Erling Haaland about to be sold by Man City?

It also saw the Norwegian having a hand in City breaking Man City’s long-held record in the premier European competition.

Barcelona haven’t been quiet in their admiration for the hit-man, however, Sky Sports Switzerland report that it’s actually their La Liga rivals, Real Madrid, that are tempting the striker.

Whilst the European giants have long coveted Haaland’s services, the reality was he was a Man City player and there was never any real likelihood he was going to leave.

However, the landscape looks to be changing irreverseably in that regard.

Sky Sports Switzerland have noted that the Premier League champions are already laying the foundations for his sale by targeting his replacement… and it’s bad news for Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal.

The outlet say that Sporting’s Viktor Gyokeres is City’s first choice to replace Haaland, with Sports Mole being just one outlet to report on the Gunners long-term interest in the Swede.

Gyokeres has been on fire in front of goal over the last year or so, with 56 goals and 19 assists in the past two seasons (transfermarkt). A career total of 179 goals and 56 assists in 356 games is a more than decent return too.

It isn’t clear what price City will put on Haaland’s head if he were to move next summer, given that it’s understood he has a contract with the club until 2027, though it wouldn’t be a surprise if they were to demand a British record fee for a striker who has changed the game in England.

  1. As I understand it, it is alleged that Barcelona still owe City money from the Torres transfer some seasons ago. It would be better if they paid their debts before trying to buy someone that is going to cost a lot more than Torres and I am sure that City are not willing to do an HP deal over a vast number of years

  2. Likely all Man City 1st team squad will leave once the EPL convictions are confirmed for financial irregularities. Relegation at least 2 divisions beckons (remember Glasgow Rangers?). Their transfer fees will be much reduced as City won’t have any option but to sell.

    1. I suggest that you must have inside information to make that remark.
Perhaps a trip to London and a visit to the tribunal might be in order to enlighten them

    2. Dream all you like.Well just sit back and wait to laugh at your tear stained faces when we get cleared of all charges. You know its coming.Look at all the signs.Weve proved the PL,Masters and the Red cartel are all corrupt, and now they’re trying to find a way of getting out of all these fake allegations they’ve made,in an attempt to remove us from top spot ,at the bequest of Loserpool and Assnil.Aw bless em…they really don’t have a clue what we’re going to do to them when this case is closed ,do they?Let’s just say its going to cost them…dearly!Them and many more of the clubs that listened to their lies .Cant wait…Ill get my.popvorn ready!💙🤣😉🏆🏆🏆🏆😉🤣💙

  3. Considering he’s just about to sign a new deal keeping him at City until 2029 don’t expect him to be moving to anyone.

    1. They are so thick they can’t see what’s happening. They think Man City are gonna be charged and all our players leave. They haven’t got a clue…All this was a planned reset for when Txixi leaves lol.Haaland is signing a new contract, and I’d say Pep will sign the 1 year rolling contract so he has full control…and he’s re iterated so many times that he loves the bones of our club, its owners and all our fans, and has done from day 1
