Liverpool are reportedly keen on the French winger Ryan Cherki.

The France under-21 international has been linked with the move away from Lyon in the past and a report from L’Equipe claims that Liverpool have enquired about the playmaker. The Reds have previously shown interest in signing him, but the player dreams of a move to Real Madrid instead.

He has a contract with the French outfit until the summer of 2026, and he is valued at €25 million. It will be interesting to see if Liverpool are ready to pay up for the 21-year-old. They could have signed him for a fee of around €10 million during the summer transfer window before he signed an extension.

Liverpool could certainly use more quality and depth in the attacking unit, and the 21-year-old would be a quality long-term investment for them. He is capable of slotting into the attacking midfield role as well as the role of a winger.

Rayan Cherki could be a useful option

Cherki will add goals and creativity to the Liverpool attack. The opportunity to play in the Premier League could be exciting for him, and he will look to test himself at the highest level. Liverpool are one of the biggest clubs around the world and they could provide him with the platform to push for major trophies as well.

Having a versatile attacker like him could certainly come in handy for the Premier League giants. They will be hoping to compete on multiple fronts and they need a deeper squad. Having flexible players could prove to be invaluable for them during rotation and injuries.

Furthermore, regular football in the Premier League could accelerate his development and help the Frenchman fulfil his potential.

It will be interesting to see how the situation unfolds over the next few months.

Manchester United are confident of signing the Rosenborg midfielder Sverre Nypan.

The 17-year-old midfielder is highly rated across Europe, and he has a bright future ahead of himself. According to TBR Football, Rosenborg have already informed the midfielder that he is free to find a new club for himself and Manchester United are optimistic about getting a deal done.

The Red Devils have been monitoring the player over the last few seasons and he is likely to cost around £10 million. The report further states that the deal could reach £20 million including bonuses. Nypan will become Ruben Amorim’s first signing at Old Trafford.

Arsenal and Liverpool have been monitoring the player as well, and they have already been in touch with his representatives. It will be interesting to see if they come forward with an offer to sign the player. It seems that Manchester United could be in pole position to secure his signature.

It remains to be seen whether the Red Devils can beat their Premier League rivals and get the deal done. The 17-year-old could be a quality long-term investment for them, and he could establish himself as a key player for the club in the coming seasons.

Man United could nurture Sverre Nypan into a star

Manchester United have a proven track record when it comes to nurturing young players and they could help and fulfil his potential potential. Moving to Old Trafford will be a major opportunity for the youngster, and he will look to make his mark in English football with them. Manchester United could provide him with the platform to fight for major trophies and regular exposure to English football could accelerate his development.

The likes of Arsenal and Liverpool will be attractive destinations for the young midfielder as well, and it will be interesting to see if they follow up on their interest with an official proposal to sign the player. Both clubs need more quality and depth in the middle of the park, and the 17-year-old would be a future investment.

Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing the Real Sociedad winger Takefusa Kubo.

The 23-year-old winger has attracted the attention of the top European clubs with his performances for the La Liga club, and it will be interesting to see if the likes of Liverpool at Tottenham can lure him away from Spain.

As per Fichajes, the winger has a €60 million release clause in his contract, and it will be interesting to see if the English clubs are willing to pay up. Real Sociedad are unlikely to let him leave for cheap. He is a key player for them, and he has a contract with the club until the summer of 2029.

Liverpool could certainly use a young winger like him, especially if Mohamed Salah decides to move on. Kubo operates in a similar role to that of the Egyptian international. He has attributes to develop into a top quality player in future and he could be an asset for Liverpool in the long term.

Meanwhile, Tottenham could look to add more depth to their attacking unit. The 23-year-old will certainly add unpredictability to their attack. He has shown his quality in Spanish football, and there is no doubt that he has the technical attributes to make a big difference in the Premier League as well.

Kubo might fancy Premier League switch

The opportunity to play in England could be quite attractive for the Japanese international and it remains to be seen where he ends up. Both clubs will be attractive destinations for him. They could provide him with the platform to fight for major trophies in the coming seasons.

Liverpool and Tottenham need to improve their squads if they want to fight for major trophies consistently and signings like Kubo will certainly help them progress.

Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister is facing a legal situation that has captured significant attention off-the-pitch.

The 25-year-old Argentine international, who plays a key role for both Liverpool and the Argentina national team, is reportedly facing a lawsuit filed by Mayan over unresolved financial matters from their past relationship, according to The Mirror.

Mayan, a model and social media influencer, has filed for financial compensation related to the five years they spent together.

The legal action comes two years after their split, which was reportedly triggered by Mac Allister leaving Mayan for her friend, Ailén Cova, who is now his current girlfriend.

Ahead of Argentina’s match against Paraguay during the ongoing international break, Mac Allister spoke about the ongoing situation. He acknowledged that their relationship had reached a clear conclusion and emphasised that the case is now being addressed through appropriate legal avenues.

The former Brighton midfielder mentioned that the choice to pursue legal action was hers, which she is entitled to, and pointed out that their differences had been discussed at the time of their breakup. He reiterated his commitment to handling the matter through the legal process.

He said:

“There was no more relationship. She took her path, I took mine, and that’s it.”

“As for the other thing (lawsuit), everything is in court, where it should be, and we are waiting. At the time we discussed what we needed to discuss, but it was clearly her decision. Everything is fine, and she is within her rights.”

Alexis Mac Allister has been a revelation at Liverpool

Since joining Liverpool in June last year, M(Photo by Michael Regan/Getty Images)ac Allister’s time at Anfield has been marked by both incredible performances. He was signed on a five-year deal for a bargain fee of £35 million, which could rise to £55 million with add-ons, and quickly became a key part of the squad.

Last season, he made 46 appearances across all competitions, netting 7 goals and providing 7 assists.

The team currently sits top of the Premier League table as well as the Champions League table. As Mac Allister faces this legal challenge, Liverpool fans will be hoping the midfielder can maintain his focus on the pitch. With Liverpool competing for top honours this season, his continued contributions remain crucial to the team’s success.

Curtis Jones capped a stunning England debut with a wonderfully taken goal against Greece on Thursday.

Jones’ senior debut for the Three Lions has been a long time coming after making nearly 150 appearances for Liverpool over the past five years, winning a host of major honours with the Reds.

The midfielder finally got his chance in England’s must-win Uefa Nations League trip to Athens.

To say he delivered would be a massive understatement.

Jones controlled the game in midfield, completing 98% of his passes (65/68) and playing three passes into the final third. Defensively, Jones kept the Greeks at bay with seven recoveries and four tackles, while winning seven of his 10 contested ground duels.

But Jones’ crowning moment came in the 83rd minute when he flicked home a stunning backheel to crown his debut with a goal and finish the job for England.

“I tried. Happy to come out with a goal too! I can go high or low and get on the ball and play,” Jones told ITV after the match.

Unsurprisingly, Jones’ performance — which earned him a 9/10 in our player ratings — has earned rave reviews from fans and pundits alike.

Prominent among those singing his praises was former England and Everton midfielder Leon Osman, who lauded Jones’ ‘wonderful evening’.

“Curtis Jones has looked very assured in the middle of the pitch,” Osman told BBC Radio 5 Live, adding:

“[He] has looked composed particularly when receiving the ball in his own area, he is unflustered, defended excellently and scored a back heel to top it all off. Wonderful evening for him.”

Jones will now have his eye on another start and big performance when England take on the Republic of Ireland on Sunday at Wembley.

England took a huge step toward Uefa Nations League promotion with a resounding 3-0 win away in Greece on Thursday.

Avenging their shock defeat at Wembley, the Three Lions put their hosts to the sword with goals from Ollie Watkins and debutant Curtis Jones, either side of an Odisseas Vlachodimos own goal forced by a Jude Bellingham shot that hit the post.

The result takes England top of the group, level on points with Greece but now boasting a better goal difference and head-to-head record.

Any sort of win against the Republic of Ireland at Wembley on Sunday will return England to League A at the first time of asking.

For now, read on for full England player ratings from a huge win in Athens.

England player ratings vs Greece: Curtis Jones ‘outstanding’ on debut

Jordan Pickford – 9/10 – Made some vital saves to preserve the win and clean sheet, while reminding everyone how important he is for England.

Kyle Walker – 6/10 – A little negative with his play, going backwards when he’d taken up some great positions. Slotted in well enough at centre-back in the second half.

Ezri Konsa – 7/10 – A solid performance, completing 100% of his passes and winning both of his contested ground duels. Brought off at half-time, presumably with an injury.

Marc Guehi – 8/10 – Tidy with the ball and made a couple of important interceptions and tackles to keep the Greeks at bay.

Rico Lewis – 8/10 – Used the ball brilliantly and popped up in some dangerous positions. Perhaps should have got himself on the scoresheet in the second half but was denied by a good save.

Conor Gallagher – 8/10 – Got through plenty of defensive work and did his best to drive England forward once he turned the ball over.

Curtis Jones – 9/10 – Absolute class on the ball and alert to any Greek counter-attacks. Misplaced just three of 68 attempted passes. Capped off an outstanding England debut with a beautifully taken goal. ‘Outstanding’ according to former England and Aston Villa midfielder Lee Hendrie.

Noni Madueke – 8/10 – Set up Watkins’ goal with a great run and cut-back and was a menace all game, creating a match-high three chances and having five touches in the opposition box.

Jude Bellingham – 9/10 – The Greeks couldn’t handle Bellingham once he got into full flow, powering through midfield with immense force. Hit the post twice, first with a header, then with a shot from the edge of the box which hit Vlachodimos and went in. Unlucky not to be credited with a goal but did the damage.

Anthony Gordon – 6/10 – A few dangerous flashes but was more subdued than Madueke.

Ollie Watkins – 8/10 – Took his goal well and provided England with a good focal point, even if he was a little isolated at times.

Substitutes:

Lewis Hall (46′, for Konsa) – 7/10 – A solid England debut from a youngster with the potential to be his nation’s left-back for years to come.

Harry Kane (67′, for Watkins) – 7/10 – Did a lot of work off the ball, including his run to create the space for Bellingham’s shot on the second goal.

Morgan Rogers (67′, for Gordon) – 7/10 – Won’t be credited with an assist on the second goal but it was his smart pass inside to Bellingham that set England away.

Jarrod Bown (67′, for Madueke) – 7/10 – Did well in the build-up for the third goal.

Morgan Gibbs-White (79′, for Gallagher) – 7/10 – Set up Jones as England finished the job.

Journalist James Pearce has shared an update on the contract of Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate and it is good news.

Liverpool are currently at the risk of loosing three of their biggest stars on a free next summer, with the club yet to come to an agreement over new contracts for Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah, and Virgil van Dijk.

Concerns over contract extension of Liverpool trio: Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk and Mo Salah

All three are just 48 days away from being allowed to speak with other clubs regarding a pre-contract agreement, putting Liverpool in a very concerning situation.

Real Madrid have shown strong interest in signing Trent Alexander-Arnold, and could make a head start in their attempts to agree a deal with him. There are suggestions that they could offer Tchouameni as part of a swap deal.

Mo Salah’s camp are also reportedly showing openness to explore offers from other clubs, with Saudi Pro League very interested in signing the Egyptian king.

All three players have however expressed their desire to continue at Liverpool, putting the ball in the club’s court to strike a deal with them.

James Pearce shares Ibrahima Konate update

Interestingly, while the future of three of their best players remain in the air, the club are focused on securing a contract extension for another star player, Ibrahima Konate.

As per the latest from The Athletic’s James Pearce, talks are underway between the Reds and Konate over a new deal, who the club sees as the only other priority.

Pearce believes striking a deal with Konate should not be a problem as the player is extremely happy at the club.

He wrote:

“The only other priority is Ibrahima Konate, whose deal runs until 2026. Talks are underway and I don’t envisage any issues there.

“He’s happy and settled at Liverpool. He’s in the best form of his Anfield career and at 25, his best years are ahead of him.”

Liverpool’s flying start to the season

Liverpool have made a flying start to the campaign under new manager Arne Slot. They currently top the Premier League table, with a 5 point lead over Manchester City. They are also top of the Champions League table in the League stages.

The club will want to avoid the risk of derailing their season with unnecessary off-the-pitch distraction, and will hope to sort out the contracts as soon as possible.

Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak has directly addressed the speculation over his future at the moment as he continues to be linked with Arsenal and other top clubs.

The Sweden international has been a star performer since joining Newcastle and it’s easy to imagine him also being a success at other top clubs at some point in the near future if he gets himself a big move.

Isak has been linked with the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool by TBR Sport, who recently reported that the 25-year-old’s talks over a new contract with Newcastle were not going well.

Isak could clearly do a job for Arsenal right now as they’re short of quality up front, with Kai Havertz not really a natural number 9, while there’s a lot of pressure on Bukayo Saka to deliver the spark in basically every game without ever getting much of an opportunity to rest.

Alexander Isak addresses talk over his future

Still, Isak has decided not to comment too much on a potential move as he clearly wants to show respect to Newcastle, though it’s also worth saying that he hasn’t taken the opportunity to deny that he could be on the move somewhere else.

“Throughout my career, I have never talked about or really commented on the move rumours during the season,’ Isak told fotbollskanalen, as quoted and translated by the Metro.

“There have been many such years where it has been talked about. It doesn’t affect me.

“I am commenting on my situation in Newcastle and I have never had any problem there. I am fully focused on my task there and that we will have a fantastic season. There are still great opportunities for that. I have no thoughts about anything else.

Asked specifically about talks over a new contract with Newcastle, he replied: “No comment.”

Barcelona president Joan Laporta is reportedly eager to seal the transfer of in-form Liverpool star Mohamed Salah as he nears the end of his contract.

The Egypt international is one of the finest players in world football and could undoubtedly do a job for Barca, even if he is now 32 years of age and possibly past his peak.

Still, Salah’s form this season has been superb and he’s showing no sign of slowing down as he’s already in double figures for both goals and assists, with Barcelona’s Laporta already making some effort to secure a deal, according to Fichajes.

Liverpool favourites to land 24 G/A superstar!

Salah looks like he could be an absolutely terrific signing on a free, especially as he’s showing signs of being able to keep on performing at the highest level for a few more years.

Barcelona already have 36-year-old Robert Lewandowski on their books, and there seems every chance Salah could also be a top performer at the highest level in Europe at that age as well.

Mohamed Salah transfer saga hotting up

Barcelona’s interest is hardly surprising and is surely a major wake-up call for Liverpool, who need to do what they can to get Salah’s new contract sorted as soon as possible.

The Reds will surely find it close to impossible to replace the former Roma man, who has established himself as a club legend and also one of the finest attacking players of the Premier League era.

Salah may feel he’s achieved all he can in English football, so Barcelona might be a tempting destination for him, even if there’s also been some talk of a move to the Saudi Pro League.

Plenty of big names have gone to Saudi in recent times and perhaps Salah will be the next, though it arguably seems like it would be a waste of talent as he’s got plenty more to do for a top European club in the next few years.

Arsenal are reportedly facing one potentially significant obstacle in their transfer pursuit of Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi.

The Gunners have been linked again with Zubimendi in a report from the Independent, which suggests that the Spain international has been keen to leave Sociedad, but stayed out of loyalty due to other players moving on.

The Independent claim, however, that that is expected to change next summer, with Zubimendi perhaps set to be on Arsenal’s radar again as he’ll feel owed the chance to make a big move.

OFFER prepared for top Arsenal target!

Still, there’s slightly conflicting information coming out about this as Fichajes report that the 25-year-old remains very loyal and committed to his current club, which could complicate things for Arsenal.

Fichajes go on to state that Arsenal could get a clearer picture about the situation in the coming weeks, so Gooners will no doubt be keeping an eye out for Zubimendi updates.

Could Arsenal sign alternatives to Martin Zubimendi?

Arsenal may already have alternatives in mind in case Zubimendi again decides he’d prefer to stay with Sociedad, as sources have informed CaughtOffside about the north London giants keeping a close eye on Ajax midfielder Kenneth Taylor.

Taylor looks a promising young talent and could make sense as a smart long-term investment, though Zubimendi is clearly more proven at the highest level.

Arsenal have invested a lot in midfielders in recent times, with Mikel Merino joining this summer, and Declan Rice the year before that.

Still, there could be room for further reinforcements in that position as Arteta faces the worrying situation of both Jorginho and Thomas Partey both being due to be out of contract at the end of the season.

Zubimendi or Taylor could both make sense as ideal replacements, and one imagines Arsenal will surely consider a few other options as well.
