Arsenal and Liverpool could reportedly be among the transfer suitors for Jonathan David as he looks almost certain to leave Lille for a reduced fee.

The Canada international has been a prolific scorer in Ligue 1 and it makes sense that he has plenty of big clubs interested in him, though it remains to be seen precisely where he could end up next.

David’s current contract with Lille expires at the end of this season, so time could be running out for the French club to cash in on him.

According to Tuttosport, Lille could accept offers in the region of €20-30m to avoid losing David on a free next summer, with Arsenal, Liverpool, Juventus and Inter Milan mentioned as possible suitors.

Meanwhile, Manchester United are also known to have shown an interest in David in recent times, according to Ben Jacobs…

Jonathan David transfer: Who needs him most?

David might not exactly be someone at the top of many clubs’ lists, but he certainly seems like an intriguing market opportunity, hence the long list of names that have supposedly been considering him.

The 24-year-old is a clinical finisher and surely someone who could be an asset to a bigger club in a more competitive league, though it remains to be seen if he’s really the answer for someone like Man Utd right now.

The Red Devils need a major upgrade on struggling young forwards Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund, and David might not be quite enough of a step up from those two.

Liverpool, meanwhile, might also benefit from bringing in someone more reliable than the inconsistent Darwin Nunez, though someone like Alexander Isak might be a more tempting option.

Arsenal also have some issues in attack right now, and David might take the pressure off the likes of Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz to score all the goals for Mikel Arteta’s side.

Jakub Kiwior is ready to push for a move away from Arsenal during the January transfer window as several clubs have shown an interest in the Polish talent.

The 24-year-old has been with Arsenal since January 2023 having been part of a £20m move from Spezia. During his time at the Emirates Stadium, the natural centre-back has often been deployed as a left-back.

Kiwior has had some impressive spells with Arsenal, especially during the start of this year, but the arrival of Ricciardo Calafiori has taken minutes away from the Polish star.

The defender has featured just seven times for Arteta’s team this season, accumulating 321 minutes of action. This has taken his total appearances to 45, but it is not enough for the versatile defender heading into the January transfer window.

Sources told CaughtOffside recently that AC Milan are considering taking Kiwior on loan, while several other clubs such as Napoli, Bologna, Juventus, Villarreal and Marseille have also shown an interest in the Gunners star.

Amid links away from the Emirates Stadium, it is now being reported that Kiwior is ready to leave North London in January and the Premier League giants may already have a replacement.

Arsenal star Jakub Kiwior could be set for a return to Italy in January

Having only started two matches for Arsenal this season against Preston and Bolton in the League Cup, Kiwior is ready to leave the Gunners in January, reports Football Insider.

The report states that clubs in Italy are ready to offer the 24-year-old a route to return to Serie A with Juventus, AC Milan and Inter all linked to the Polish international.

It is uncertain whether these teams will push for a loan deal or try to acquire the services of Kiwior permanently. The latter is the more likely as it will allow the Italian clubs to see where the player is at before committing to a long-term deal.

An exit in January is best for both the player and the club, although Arsenal will be losing a useful asset.

Chelsea and Manchester City are among the clubs showing an interest in the potential transfer of highly-rated Torino midfielder Samuele Ricci.

The Italy international looks a class act after shining in Serie A and it makes sense that there’s plenty of interest in him at the moment, and not just from the Premier League.

Sources with a close understanding of Ricci’s situation have informed CaughtOffside that along with Chelsea and Man City, there is also interest from Real Madrid, and perhaps even stronger interest from Inter Milan.

It remains to be seen if we’ll see Ricci look to stay in Italy or move abroad, but one imagines Torino would much rather avoid selling him to a rival if possible.

That could benefit the likes of Chelsea, who would likely do well to bring in someone in that area of the pitch after Enzo Fernandez’s struggles at Stamford Bridge.

Samuele Ricci to Chelsea to replace Enzo Fernandez?

Chelsea have invested a lot in some big names in recent times, with Fernandez up there with their most expensive acquisition.

Still, with every passing game, it seems all the clearer that the Argentina international hasn’t really delivered in his time in west London, or lived up to the hefty price tag that brought him to the club from Benfica.

Ricci looks like he could be an upgrade, and his contract situation at Torino could mean he’s available for a reasonable price.

The 23-year-old’s current deal expires in the summer of 2026, and CaughtOffside understands Torino could ask for around €40million to let him go, which looks like a bit of a bargain in this market, and a fraction of what CFC paid Benfica for Fernandez.

Fernandez has been linked with Real Madrid by Sacha Tavolieri in recent times, so he could be an alternative to Ricci for the Spanish giants, which could again play nicely into Chelsea’s hands.

Bayern Munich continue to be interested in Hakan Calhanoglu and are considering making a new attempt for the Inter Milan midfielder in the 2025 summer transfer window, CaughtOffside understands.

Bayern were also interested in the Turkey international last summer and tried to sign him, though up until now he’s been happy to stay at Inter, while his club were also not keen to sell.

However, Bayern could soon have more luck in their pursuit of Calhanoglu as Inter would be willing to evaluate offers in the region of €45million for the 30-year-old.

Price SLASHED to £63m – megastar could be Chelsea or Man Utd-bound! Click here to find out more!

Joao Palhinha’s struggles at Bayern mean they remain attentive to the midfield market, and Calhanoglu remains someone at the top of their list.

Hakan Calhanoglu transfer: Inter star open to new challenge

Sources close to Calhanoglu have now informed CaughtOffside that the former Bayer Leverkusen midfielder is open to a new challenge, which could be a significant boost for Bayern.

Manchester City are also understood to be lurking in the background, with the Premier League champions open to making a change in midfield amid some doubts over Rodri’s future.

City inquired about Calhanoglu in the past and they’re still keeping an eye on his situation, even if Bayern’s interest currently looks more advanced.

Calhanoglu shone for Inter last night as he scored the winning goal from the penalty spot in their 1-0 victory over Arsenal in the Champions League.

The Nerazzuri would ideally surely prefer to keep someone like Calhanoglu, but they have had some noted financial issues in recent times, which could mean bids of around €45m would be too good to turn down.

Bayern will have expected more when they signed Palhinha to bolster their midfield in the summer, but the Portugal international hasn’t managed to force his way into Vincent Kompany’s side on a regular basis, so he could already be replaced very soon.

Arsenal were unlucky to be beaten 1-0 by Inter in the Champions League on Wednesday night, however, an awful showing by Leandro Trossard should see him dropped by Mikel Arteta.

The Gunners had Martin Odegaard back from injury, and would’ve headed to San Siro full of confidence.

Even the stats at the end of the game landed heavily in favour of the away side, yet they were still downed by a first-half injury-time penalty that Mikel Arteta didn’t necessarily agree with.

That spot-kick was Inter’s only shot on target in the entire game, but that’s one more than Leandro Trossard (rated at €35m by transfermarkt) made.

According to SofaScore, the striker played for 82 minutes of the match, gave possession away on eight separate occasions, and made only two key passes.

Mikel Arteta has to replace Leandro Trossard after dire showing

If Arteta genuinely believes that Arsenal can go deep into the premier European competition as well as being a contender for the Premier League title, then his strikers have to perform much, much better than that.

Arteta was actually asked recently how he would feel having a striker like Alexander Isak in his squad, and after Trossard’s abject failure against the Neroazzurri, the Spaniard will likely have to answer something similar again.

Arsenal legend has a feeling why key man has left. What’s this all about? Find out here!

As good a team as the Gunners are, they really lack a striker who is a virtual guarantee of goals and who lives for putting the ball in the back of the net.

Kai Havertz has improved no end under Arteta, but he’s more of a second striker or even an attacking midfielder, rather than a centre-forward.

Gabriel Jesus clearly isn’t the player he once was, so the thought that should be foremost in Arteta’s mind this January is ‘what striker can I buy that will help fire me to one or more titles’?

In almost all other areas of the pitch, Arsenal are rock solid, so the odd tweak here and there could make all the difference.

Julen Lopetegui is many fans’ favourite to be the next Premier League sacked.

The West Ham United manager is enduring an awful start to the season.

Despite overseeing a huge transfer window in the summer, and the Hammers being among the country’s biggest spenders, the former Wolves boss has so far failed to get his new stars up to speed.

Julen Lopetegui under huge pressure at West Ham

The likes of Niclas Fullkrug and Aaron Wan-Bissaka haven’t yet lived up to expectations despite their high-profile moves from Borussia Dortmund and Manchester United respectively.

Consequently, Lopategui, who has won just three out of 10 Premier League games, is under huge pressure, and failure to turn things around quickly will almost certainly result in his immediate dismissal.

Simone Inzaghi among options but Inter Milan dreaming of renewal

However,  even though David Sullivan is seriously considering ditching his manager, the Hammers’ owner may not be able to hire his preferred target.

Can’t wait! — Ruben Amorim is buzzing about working with THIS Man United star.

According to a recent report from Calciomercato, Inter Milan’s Simone Inzaghi is a manager Sullivan has admired for several months, and even tried to lure him to London in the summer.

The chance to hire the 48-year-old may have gone though. Inter’s decision makers want to offer the Italian a new deal and one that would extend his stay at the San Siro beyond 2027.

During his three-and-a-half years in charge of the Nerazzurri, Inzaghi has averaged an impressive 2.16-points per game.

Arsenal may have another injury concern ahead of their Premier League clash with Chelsea on Sunday as Kai Havertz left the Gunners’ Champions League clash with Inter covered in blood.

The German forward picked up a nasty cut on his head after clashing with Yann Aurel Bisseck towards the end of Arsenal’s match with Inter as both players contested for a header.  The incident left the 25-year-old lying on the San Siro pitch covered in blood before the forward was replaced by the returning Martin Odegaard.

Havertz was covered in blood leaving the field of play and the pictures did not look good for the Germany international.

It is uncertain if this will have an impact on the former Chelsea star’s availability ahead of facing his old club at the weekend, which would be a big blow for Mikel Arteta given his importance to this Arsenal team so far this season.

Havertz has featured in 15 matches for Arsenal this season, playing every minute for the North London club in the Premier League.

The forward has produced seven goals and one assist for the Gunners so far, although his form has dipped during the Premier League giants’ recent poor run of form in the league.

Will Kai Havertz be available for Arsenal’s clash with Chelsea?

Given that Havertz’s injury is just a bad cut, the forward should be available to face his former club at the weekend, which will be good news for Arteta given the injuries the Gunners’ have had lately.

The German star will also be keen to return to Stamford Bridge having left the West London club last summer as part of a £65m deal.

Arsenal fans will also be encouraged by the return of Odegaard on Wednesday night as the midfielder has been a massive miss for Arteta’s team. The Gunners will hope their captain can change their fortunes in the Premier League as the North London outfit need a win on Sunday to remain in the title race.

Former Arsenal star and TNT Sports pundit Martin Keown has stated that a UEFA penalty rule is “ruining our game” after a controversial decision in the Gunners’ Champions League clash with Inter.

Mikel Arteta’s men arrived in Italy needing a win as the North London club are in the midst of a bad run of form having failed to win any of their last three Premier League matches – with the absence of Martin Odegaard playing a big role in this.

The first half in the San Siro was very even between the two teams, however, the home side were awarded a controversial penalty towards the end of the opening 45 minutes in the eyes of English fans. Mikel Merino handled the ball in his own box after a flick-on hit him from very close range, which the referee declared a penalty.

In the Premier League, the proximity of the Arsenal star would have come into play but that is not the case in UEFA competitions, where a penalty is normally called once the ball hits a hand.

Hakan Calhanoglu stepped up to slot the ball into the Gunners’ net and this did not go down well at halftime amongst the TNT Sports crew.

Former Arsenal star Martin Keown says UEFA penalty rule is “ruining our game”

Speaking at halftime, Keown stated that the UEFA penalty rule is “ruining our game” as it left his former club with a lot of work to do during the second half at the San Siro.

“Is the ball in an unnatural position? It certainly isn’t,” the pundit said on TNT Sports before declaring decisions like this are “ruining our game”.

This is the rule in UEFA competitions and there was nothing controversial about the referee’s decision as a similar situation was also seen on Tuesday night during Man City’s clash with Sporting CP.

The English pundits simply didn’t like that it was against one of their teams and although the Premier League’s guidelines on this are fairer, it is not something that needs immediate changing.

Inter Milan host Arsenal in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

Simone Inzaghi’s side come into tonight’s fiercely anticipated matchup on an eight-game unbeaten run and will hope to improve on their eighth-placed position in the table.

Arsenal, on the other hand, although unbeaten in Europe and only one place behind the Nerazzurri in the table on seven points, are enduring a miserable spell.

Not only are the side winless in all of their last three Premier League games, but sporting director Edu recently announced his departure from the club, forcing uncertainty off the pitch, as well as on it.

Depending on what happens in the other fixtures tonight, a win for Inter could see them rise to as high as second.

“He was a panic buy!”Emmanuel Petit has slammed THIS Arsenal signing in a stunning rant.

All three points for the Gunners could result in the same outcome, although a considerable win margin would be needed considering second-placed Sporting Lisbon’s superior goal difference.

Ahead of the exciting matchup, which is scheduled to kick off at 8 p.m. (UK time), both managers have named their starting lineups.

Inter Milan team news

Lautaro Martinez starts up front for Inter and captains the side. He is joined in attack by Mehdi Taremi and creative playmaker Hakan Calhanoglu.

Arsenal team news

The big news from Arsenal comes in the form of Martin Odegaard. The Norway international has made his long-awaited return from injury and has been deemed fit enough to make Mikel Arteta’s subs bench.

Declan Rice has made way after suffering a foot injury. Ben White returns to his usual right-back position with Thomas Partey moving back into midfield.

Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez is reportedly attracting interest from Barcelona and Inter Milan after he was once again left out of Enzo Maresca’s starting XI against Manchester United.

The Argentina international has not been at his best for much of his time at Stamford Bridge, despite arriving with big expectations on his shoulders after that big-money move from Benfica in January 2023.

Fernandez has had some decent moments in a Chelsea shirt, but arguably any player would struggle to deal with the pressure that comes with such a big price tag.

“His performance in Chelsea’s draw at Manchester United was arguably his best game for the club” – which Chelsea star is earning RAVE reviews? Click here to find out!

Still, it now looks like there’s some doubt over Fernandez’s Chelsea future as Maresca continues to snub him, with Barca and Inter now said to be monitoring the 23-year-old, according to the Sun.

Enzo Fernandez transfer: Should Chelsea sell the midfielder?

It will be interesting to see how this saga develops, with Fernandez surely good enough to turn things around for himself at Chelsea, just as Moises Caicedo has done after also making a slow start.

Still, it might also be a decent time for Chelsea to cash in on Fernandez if they feel he’s perhaps not going to be quite good enough for them, or the right fit for Maresca’s style of football.

If they wait much longer, Chelsea might find that Fernandez’s value just plummets as clubs won’t want to pay too much for someone who’s not been seeing much game time.

At the moment, though, Fernandez’s stock will surely remain pretty high as he looked a class act at former club Benfica and has arguably just been a bit unlucky at CFC, where there have been numerous other issues such as changes of manager and a big turnover of personnel on the pitch.

Fernandez is not the only big-name signing of the Todd Boehly era to struggle to live up to expectations, with Mykhailo Mudryk another notable example, while others like Benoit Badiashile, Axel Disasi and Robert Sanchez could also probably have done better.

Chelsea might do well not to overreact to a little dip in form and risk selling a talent like Fernandez before they’ve seen the best of him.
