Liverpool left-back Andrew Robertson had a major rant at Premier League referee David Coote a few years ago, which perhaps shows where the bad blood started between the club and this particular match official.

Coote has been suspended by PGMOL, as reported by BBC Sport, following yesterday’s big story that showed the referee launching a foul-mouthed tirade against Liverpool and their former manager Jurgen Klopp.

In the video that surfaced, Coote made reference to issues between himself and Klopp from a game against Burnley during lockdown, and it may be that it relates to an incident with Reds left-back Robertson, who can be seen swearing a lot at the referee in the video clip below…

Pictures from BT Sport

Robertson was clearly far from impressed with Coote’s performance that day, and another video shows that the Scotland international was perhaps denied a penalty by the referee before this bust-up after the game…

Liverpool look set to SIGN this Premier League star!

Robertson perhaps felt at the time that Coote was not refereeing Liverpool’s games fairly, though there will now be a more full investigation into Coote, according to BBC Sport’s report.

What did David Coote say about Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp?

When asked about his thoughts on Klopp in the leaked video, Coote said: “C**t, absolute c**t. Aside from having a right pop at me when I was reffing against Burnley in lockdown, he accused me of lying and then just had a right f***ing pop at me. I’ve got no interest in speaking to somebody as f***ing arrogant. I do my best not to speak to him…my god, German c***t. F*** me.”

The person next to him then added: “Long story short, Jurgen Klopp’s a c***t, Liverpool are all f***ing bellends and we hate Scousers.”

It’s certainly hard to imagine Coote will be able to referee Liverpool games again, while his future officiating in the Premier League in general may also be in serious doubt.

Video footage has emerged of Premier League referee David Coote appearing to say he thinks Liverpool played “s**t” in a game that he was at and that former Reds manager Jurgen Klopp is a “c**t”.

Watch below as a video clip shows Coote sitting down and being filmed by an unidentified second person, with the match official slamming Klopp as “arrogant” and saying he tries not to speak to the German tactician.

When asked about his thoughts on Klopp, he didn’t hold back, saying: “C**t, absolute c**t.

Although the full context of this video is not necessarily that clear, as Coote may well have been joking or exaggerating in some way, it doesn’t look good for the referee as he is someone who is supposed to be impartial given the nature of his job…

David Coote could be in trouble over Liverpool video

Coote was most recently in charge of Liverpool’s win over Aston Villa at the weekend, but it’s hard to imagine he’ll be getting the chance to officiate other Reds matches any time soon if this clip above really is as it appears.

The 42-year-old officiated his first Premier League game back in 2018 and has taken charge of plenty of big games, including Manchester United’s 2-0 win over Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup final in 2023.

Referees are often in the spotlight over any small decision that looks debatable, as fans will always feel their team is being hard done by.

Coote hasn’t had too many noteworthy controversies, and there’s certainly no evidence that he’s shown bias against Liverpool in any of their games.

However, this footage surely shows that he’s not a big fan of the Merseyside club or of their former manager Klopp, though he admits he has no problem with former player James Milner.

It’s not clear when this video was taken, but there are some references to social distancing which suggest it could be a few years ago when measures were still in place for the Covid-19 pandemic in the UK.

In a second clip, as seen above, Coote addresses the camera to insist that this clip must not get out, which suggests he’s aware of how serious the consequences could be for him.

Still, Klopp will have had his fair share of clashes with a number of different referees during his time in England, as is also the case with basically every manager.

David Coote video being investigated by PGMOL

There has now been an update as journalist Ben Jacobs reports on the Coote video being looked into by the PGMOL.

Man United took a 2-0 lead into the halftime break of their Premier League clash with Leicester City, which came courtesy of some Bruno Fernandes magic.

The Manchester club celebrated the 250th appearance of their captain on Sunday afternoon ahead of their match with the Foxes at Old Trafford as the Portuguese star has been a brilliant servant to the Red Devils since arriving from Sporting CP in 2020.

The 30-year-old celebrated the occasion by opening the scoring against Leicester as the midfielder bagged a beauty from just outside of the away side’s box with 17 minutes on the clock.

The Man United captain would also play a role in Ruud van Nistelrooy’s side doubling their advantage before the break as Leicester’s Victor Kristiansen knocked the ball into his own net, making it a very tough task for the Foxes in the second 45 minutes.

Fernandes is one man who has thrived under Van Nistelrooy’s leadership at Old Trafford and it is evident in the midfielder’s stats.

Fernandes was one of many Man United stars criticised for their performances throughout the opening phase of the 2024/25 campaign as the Red Devils squad struggled for form under Erik ten Hag. However, since the Dutch coach’s sacking, the Portuguese international has been on fire.

According to Squawka, the 30-year-old had not scored in his opening 13 matches under Ten Hag; since Van Nistelrooy took interim charge of the Manchester outfit, the 30-year-old has scored four goals across his last four matches.

The Dutch coach seems to have brought the best out of his captain and that has been to the benefit of United as the Red Devils have not lost a game in the lead-up to Ruben Amorim taking over at Old Trafford.

Liverpool are closing in on another victory in the Premier League, as they have now gone 2-0 ahead against Aston Villa in Saturday’s late kick-off at Anfield.

The Reds, who started the day two points ahead of Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table, went in front after 20 minutes when Mohamed Salah assisted Darwin Nunez for his third goal of the season. It was a classic counter-attacking goal from Arne Slot’s side, who would go five points clear with a victory, following on from Manchester City’s defeat against Brighton and Hove Albion earlier in the day.

The second goal has now arrived for Liverpool, and it’s come better late than never. This time, it’s Salah on the scoresheet, as he grabs his eighth Premier League goal of the season – again, it’s another breakaway goal, as an error in the Aston Villa defence allows the Egyptian forward to race through on ball, before showing extreme composure to finish beyond Emi Martinez.

Liverpool heading five points clear at the Premier League summit

Slot’s spectacular start to life as manager of Liverpool is set to continue. It’s about to be a fourth successive victory in all competitions, and it will also mean that Manchester City now trail their title challengers by five points.

Life will be very good if you are a Liverpool fan right now, of that there is no doubt. Aston Villa could have been a banana skin fixture, but instead, it will only be another victory for the Premier League pace-setters.

Liverpool are already guaranteed to remain top of the Premier League table irrespective of their result against Aston Villa tonight. Regardless, the league leaders are on course to extend their advantage over reigning champions Manchester City, who were beaten by Brighton and Hove Albion earlier in the day.

On 20 minutes, Liverpool have taken the lead at Anfield against Aston Villa. It is a classic counter-attack goal that has allowed Arne Slot’s side to open the scoring, and it was finished off by Darwin Nunez.

After an Aston Villa corner, Virgil van Dijk’s gorgeous through ball allows Mohamed Salah to bear down on goal. He was taken down by Aston Villa’s Leon Bailey, although play continued as Darwin Nunez collected to go one-on-one with Emi Martinez. In the end, the Uruguayan created an angle before firing into the back of the net at the Kop End.

Liverpool made a flying start in the opening stages at Anfield, and although proceedings had been more frenetic in recent minutes, they have managed to force themselves into the lead. Slot will now want his side to go for the jugular, as they go in search of a nine Premier League win of the season so far.

Unai Emery will be determined to inspire his Aston Villa side to a comeback, although doing that against Liverpool, and at Anfield in particular, is much easier said than done. The atmosphere is raucous on Merseyside, as the Premier League leaders are now on course to create a significant buffer between themselves and the other 19 teams.

Man United hosted PAOK in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday night and before the match, Alejandro Garnacho was involved in an incident with a rude fan of the Manchester club.

The game was an important one for the Manchester club as the United were yet to win a game in the competition under the leadership of Erik ten Hag drawing all three of the contests so far. The Dutch coach was sacked as a result of the Red Devils’ poor start to the season, which has resulted in Ruben Amorim becoming the next manager of the Premier League giants.

It has been a chaotic start to the 2024/25 campaign for all involved at Man United and one player who has mostly tried his best to step up for this team has been Garnacho – which was shown when he played through an injury earlier in the term.

The 20-year-old has produced six goals and four assists across 16 games in all competitions this season, but more importantly, the Argentina star keeps going throughout 90 minutes, which can’t be said for several of the current United squad.

Despite this, one fan decided to insult the winger ahead of Man United’s clash with PAOK outside of Old Trafford.

“Garnacho, you got to pass better today, please,” the so-called United fan said to Garnacho.”Pass better score a goal and work on your first touch, yeah?

Garnacho clearly didn’t like the man’s attitude and quickly put him in his place, hitting back with: “Why are you not playing bro?”

Man United fans will support the response of Alejandro Garnacho

No matter how bad a player is playing, none deserve to be insulted and abused by fans in this way and the majority of Man United fans will support the winger’s reaction.

The man’s interaction with the Argentina star was rude and necessary and will likely do more harm than good when it comes to the 20-year-old’s confidence.

Garnacho’s response was the perfect way to hit back at the ignorant fan, who should be embarrassed by the video he posted.

Eintracht Frankfurt were 1-0 winners over Slavia Praha in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday night with Liverpool target Omar Marmoush producing a stunning goal for the home fans.

With 53 minutes on the clock, the forward took a free-kick from 25 yards out and it left the Slavia Praha goalkeeper flat-footed as it went in off the underside of the crossbar.

It was yet another memorable moment in the incredible season Marmoush is having as the Egyptian international is in the form of his life throughout the start of the 2024/25 campaign.

The 25-year-old has scored 13 goals and assisted a further nine across 15 matches, which has helped Frankfurt up to third in the Bundesliga standings and into the automatic qualification places in the Europa League.

Marmoush’s performances have caught the attention of Liverpool and Bayern Munich, reports Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg,

The Egyptian talent has a contract with Eintracht Frankfurt until 2027 but the German club will consider selling their star man if a bid between €50m/€60m arrives next summer for the 25-year-old.

Omar Marmoush is a “serious” option for Liverpool next summer

Having barely added to his squad this summer, new Liverpool boss Arne Slot will certainly strengthen his squad in 2025 as the Dutch coach will know exactly what his team needs after a year of working with his players.

Plettenberg has stated that Marmoush is a “serious option” for the Merseyside club, who seem to be looking to add to their forward options – which may provide a hint regarding the future of Mohamed Salah at Anfield.

The Egyptian superstar is out of contract with the Premier League giants at the end of the season and there has been no concrete reports of a new one being offered to the winger.

The 32-year-old’s departure could see his international teammate arriving on Merseyside to replace him, however, there is still a very long way to go before Marmoush’s future will be decided, especially with multiple big clubs involved in the race.

Chelsea have unveiled their Christmas charity project, with Cole Palmer featuring heavily in the star-studded video of players and fans past and present.

The Blues have often been on the wrong end of media headlines with the club even being accused of blackmailing one of their stars into signing a new deal.

Chelsea release brilliant Christmas charity video featuring Cole Palmer

Trouble at Stamford Bridge never appears to be far away, so the charity initiative that the West Londoners are getting involved in will arguably bring them some much-needed positive PR.

The video released by the club features stars from past and present, including Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and Christopher Nkunku, whilst Madness front man, and famous Chelsea fan, Suggs, also makes an appearance.

Cole Palmer makes an embarrassing admission regarding Chelsea legend. Find out what was said here!

Cole Palmer has star billing, with the tagline ‘Leave the cold to Cole’ being the message that Chelsea have pushed forward.

A message on X read; The Club and the CFC Foundation are united in our mission to support the coldest this winter. Over 3000 people were sleeping rough in south-west London alone last year. We are working alongside Chelsea supporters and local charities to provide warm clothing to those who need it most. Throughout our Christmas campaign we’ll be raising funds to support charities like Barons Court Project, tackling homelessness and its root causes in London. Let’s do something together.

It’s certainly a message that will resonate with many, particularly as the cold winter months take hold.

That the initiative looks to those in need who are most local to the club makes it a more noble cause, and if enough funds are raised to take even one person off the streets this winter, it will have surely served its purpose.

Former Arsenal star and TNT Sports pundit Martin Keown has stated that a UEFA penalty rule is “ruining our game” after a controversial decision in the Gunners’ Champions League clash with Inter.

Mikel Arteta’s men arrived in Italy needing a win as the North London club are in the midst of a bad run of form having failed to win any of their last three Premier League matches – with the absence of Martin Odegaard playing a big role in this.

The first half in the San Siro was very even between the two teams, however, the home side were awarded a controversial penalty towards the end of the opening 45 minutes in the eyes of English fans. Mikel Merino handled the ball in his own box after a flick-on hit him from very close range, which the referee declared a penalty.

In the Premier League, the proximity of the Arsenal star would have come into play but that is not the case in UEFA competitions, where a penalty is normally called once the ball hits a hand.

Hakan Calhanoglu stepped up to slot the ball into the Gunners’ net and this did not go down well at halftime amongst the TNT Sports crew.

Former Arsenal star Martin Keown says UEFA penalty rule is “ruining our game”

Speaking at halftime, Keown stated that the UEFA penalty rule is “ruining our game” as it left his former club with a lot of work to do during the second half at the San Siro.

“Is the ball in an unnatural position? It certainly isn’t,” the pundit said on TNT Sports before declaring decisions like this are “ruining our game”.

This is the rule in UEFA competitions and there was nothing controversial about the referee’s decision as a similar situation was also seen on Tuesday night during Man City’s clash with Sporting CP.

The English pundits simply didn’t like that it was against one of their teams and although the Premier League’s guidelines on this are fairer, it is not something that needs immediate changing.

Liverpool have continued their fine form with an impressive win against Bayer Leverkusen.

Returning to Anfield for the first time as a manager, former midfielder Xabi Alonso travelled to Merseyside with his Bayer Leverkusen squad looking to pull off an upset.

Another top-class performance from the home team made it virtually impossible for Alonso’s side to get into the game though.

Despite failing to score in the first half, Liverpool piled the pressure on in the second 45 minutes and ended up running out deserving 4-0 winners.

Arne Slot loved Luis Diaz’s first goal against Bayer Leverkusen

Luis Diaz netted a hat-trick with Cody Gakpo scoring the other. It was Diaz’s first that his manager loved the most though.

“He tried to blame someone else!” — Tim Sherwood was NOT happy with what this Aston Villa star  did against Spurs.

Finding himself in a one-on-one situation, the Columbia international calmly chipped the ball beyond opposition goalkeeper Lukas Hradecky.

Slot loved the winger’s composure. The Dutchman, who was stood inside the Anfield technical area, was caught on camera giving a superb reaction to Diaz’s opening goal.

Check it out below with pictures from Amazon Prime.

Liverpool will now prepare to welcome Real Madrid to Anfield on the 27th November as they look to extend their lead at the top of the Champions League table.
