Manchester United, Tottenham and Newcastle United are reportedly among the clubs interested in a potential transfer deal for Chelsea midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

The 26-year-old only joined Chelsea from Leicester City in the summer, and initially looked like an exciting signing to follow Enzo Maresca from the King Power Stadium to Stamford Bridge.

However, it hasn’t worked out well for Dewsbury-Hall so far, and the Daily Briefing now reports that the Englishman could already be allowed to leave Chelsea.

Man Utd have also asked about ANOTHER Chelsea star…!

This has put the likes of Man Utd on alert ahead of January, and it would certainly be interesting to see if he could revive his career at Old Trafford.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall transfer: Could he be a surprise success story for Man United?

New United manager Ruben Amorim could perhaps do well to strengthen his midfield, with the ageing Christian Eriksen surely not likely to be a key player for the Red Devils for much longer.

Even if Dewsbury-Hall has been disappointing at Chelsea, it could be that he still has what it takes to make it at a top club after showing such impressive potential during his time at Leicester.

KDH was a real assist machine for Leicester in the Championship, but also previously showed his talent for them in the Premier League as well.

Newcastle would also surely look at this as a player who could improve them in midfield, and if he’s available on loan then that would also likely be seen as a low-risk deal.

Some Chelsea fans may be disappointed, however, that Dewsbury-Hall hasn’t had more of a chance to show what he can do since joining the club in the summer.

Maresca has worked with him before, so the link-up looked like it made sense for everyone involved, but he might not want to wait around for too much longer to see if his situation can change.

Julen Lopetegui’s job appears to be hanging by a thread at West Ham, but that hasn’t stopped the Spaniard from demanding even more signings in January.

West Ham players remain unhappy with the Spaniard, the 0-0 draw against Everton at the weekend keeping the Hammers down in 14th position in the Premier League.

Their poor form since Lopetegui took over has even seen one elite manager tipped to take over at the London Stadium should the West Ham board decide that enough is enough.

Lopetegui chasing Brighton and Hove Albion ace

If David Sullivan goes against the grain and decides to give his manager a while longer to implement his strategies, one player that Lopetegui wants is 24-year-old Brighton and Hove Albion ace, Tariq Lamptey.

CaughtOffside sources have indicated that Lamptey could consider leaving Brighton at the end of the season but, given that his contract ends in June 2025 (transfermarkt), a decision may be made by the Seagulls themselves as early as January.

Lamptey has shown no sign of extending his current deal, and sources understand that this is because the right-back is unhappy with how things have panned out under Fabian Hurzeler.

The Ghanaian international is certainly looking to move, though CaughtOffside sources note that the East Londoners could face competition for his services.

Premier League clubs Everton, Nottingham Forest and Brentford have already expressed interest in signing him, without taking things further at this stage.

The former Chelsea academy player has been with Brighton since 2021, and whilst it’s understood his preference is to stay in the Premier League, foreign clubs such as Juventus are also showing interest.

Clearly, a decision needs to be made soon, and ultimately Hurzeler will be the one to decide whether Lamptey can be considered as surplus to requirements as early as the first month of 2025.

The latest Premier League team of the week is in, with some big names in there from Manchester United, Liverpool and Newcastle United.

Mohamed Salah is somewhat surprisingly the only Reds player to make Troy Deeney’s line up on BBC Sport, despite Arne Slot’s side beating a strong opponent in Aston Villa to go five points clear at the top of the Premier League table.

Liverpool have been absolutely superb since Slot took over from Jurgen Klopp in the summer, and Salah has undoubtedly been one of their stand-out performers, though others also surely did enough to earn a spot in this latest team of the week.

Premier League team of the week in full

Troy Deeney's latest team of the week for BBC Sport

See the image above for the team of the week in full, with Man Utd and Newcastle both getting three players each into the side.

United trio Andre Onana, Bruno Fernandes and Noussair Mazraoui were selected by Deeney, while Dan Burn, Alexander Isak and Joelinton of Newcastle all made it in.

Fernandes was certainly impressive in United’s win over Leicester City, while Isak is always a joy to watch for Newcastle, but the absence of more Liverpool players over some of these names does seem a bit harsh as they were also arguably playing stronger opponents.

Brighton also harshly overlooked in team of the week

Brighton only got one player in the team of the week despite beating Man City

Brighton also only had one player in despite beating Manchester City 2-1 in a superb performance.

The Seagulls fully deserved their comeback victory against the reigning Premier League champions, and yet some of their players have clearly gone a little under the radar.

Brighton’s win takes them to 6th in the Premier League table, and they’d actually be third, behind only Liverpool and Man City, if not for having an inferior goal difference to Arsenal, Chelsea and Nottingham Forest.

Brentford are keen on a move for Celtic winger Nicolas Kuhn, as they consider options amid strong interest in Bryan Mbeumo. The 24-year-old has been in sublime form for the SPFL Premiership champions this season, and that continued in midweek when he scored twice in the Champions League victory over RB Leipzig at Celtic Park – he was also awarded the player of the match award by UEFA for his performance.

In the SPFL Premiership, Kuhn has registered three goals and five assists, while he has recorded a further 11 goal involvements across other competitions (three in the Champions League, eight in the Premier Sports Cup).

Kuhn has a slowish start to life in Glasgow after joining from Rapid Wien at the start of 2024, but he has kicked on this season. Because of this, it is no surprise that clubs in the Premier League are taking interest in his services.

Celtic set reasonable asking price amid Brentford interest

According to TBR Football, Celtic are reluctant to sell Kuhn, although they would be prepared to accept any offer of at least £25m – this would be a significant profit for The Celts, who paid only £3m to bring him over from Austria.

In the event that Brentford do sell Mbeumo next summer, which they would likely do so for a figure in excess of £50m, they would be more than capable of affording Kuhn. This would be bad news for Celtic fans, who have quickly fallen in love with the former German U21 international.

Liverpool may have had a quiet summer in the transfer window, but perhaps one deal that’s gone a little under the radar is getting £27.5million for Fabio Carvalho as he left to join Brentford.

The Portuguese attacking midfielder had been highly rated for some time, ever since he first broke through at Fulham a few years ago, though it’s clear that he was just a bit of a flash in the pan as he struggled badly at Anfield.

Carvalho had the chance to try to revive his fortunes with loan spells at RB Leipzig and Hull City, but those didn’t work out too well for him either, and he wound up back at Liverpool for pre-season.

Eventually, however, he left to sign for Brentford in a deal worth an initial £20m, rising to £27.5m, according to BBC Sport‘s report at the time.

Even if Carvalho had some promising moments in pre-season, prompting LFC legend Phil Thompson to describe him as a “very clever footballer” and compare him to Philippe Coutinho whilst talking to talkSPORT, it’s clear that now looks like a great fee for such an underwhelming player.

Fabio Carvalho sale looks like a bit of a masterstroke by Liverpool

Liverpool fans might not be too surprised to see that Carvalho is now struggling at Brentford, having barely started any games for Thomas Frank’s side since joining in such an expensive deal.

The 22-year-old may well have seen this move as an opportunity to play more and show what he can do, but he’s started just five of his 13 appearances for the club.

Carvalho clearly hasn’t won over his new manager, and it really remains to be seen if he’s even good enough to make an impact at this level.

Liverpool must be wondering how they got so much money from his sale, in what was clearly some smart negotiating by the board, even if they had their critics at times for failing to bring many new names in.

It’s happening! Odds SLASHED on this major Liverpool signing in January – click here to find out more!

Manchester City remain innocent until proven guilty of any of the 115 charges being levied against them, however, their Premier League opponents will sue them if they are, ultimately, found guilty.

The fall out from the case which is currently ongoing could change the face of English football as we know it.

Man City could be sued for many millions by EPL clubs

An unprecedented punishment against the Cityzens has already been mooted, with other potential avenues for taking the serial champions down a peg or two also being discussed.

Arguably, any and all discussions are irrelevant at this stage given that City haven’t yet been found guilty of a single charge.

Given the severity of the charges, it will take some time before any decision is reached in any event, and were the outcome to be unfavourable to City, there’s some certainty to the club launching an appeal, delaying the outcome even further.

According to The Times (subscription required), a number of Premier League clubs are reserving the right to seek compensation for lost earnings were City to be found guilty.

Man City’s former financial advisor had a lot to say about the outcome of the ongoing trial. Find out what he said here!

Essentially, some clubs will have been denied the right to finances that a title win would’ve seen them achieve, and/or the prize money involved in qualifying for the latter stages of European competitions.

There is a need for those clubs to protect their positions now given that its understood they could be time barred from doing so if they wait until the end of the trial and/or a subsequent appeal.

Any potentially successful cases against City would cost the club many millions of pounds, though the loss of prestige would be far more humbling for the club.

Such scenarios may not even come to pass if City’s legal team manage to ensure that the club’s name, and that of their directors emerge successfully from the case.

Liverpool are now the favourites to seal the transfer of Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo, who has also attracted links with the likes of Arsenal and Newcastle after his superb form at the start of this season.

The Reds are now being backed at 6/4 to be Mbeumo’s next club, with Gambling.com giving them a 40% probability of snapping up the Cameroon international.

Liverpool aren’t exactly short of options in attack right now after a superb start to the season from Arne Slot’s side, with Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz in particularly strong form, while Cody Gakpo, Diogo Jota and Darwin Nunez are also quality options up front.

Still, LFC are being linked with Mbeumo, and are now considered his most likely next club over the likes of Newcastle and Arsenal, while other big names like Tottenham, Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City also not too far behind…

Bryan Mbeumo is 6/4 to join Liverpool

Mbeumo surely has the quality to make the step up to a bigger club and it could be difficult for Brentford to keep hold of the 25-year-old while he’s playing like this.

Bryan Mbeumo transfer to Liverpool could be one to watch for January

It will be interesting to see how this saga progresses, but Mbeumo certainly seems like he’s going to be one to watch, and we can perhaps expect Liverpool to be busy this January after a quiet summer.

The Merseyside giants will surely look to address their squad and give themselves the best chance to build on the momentum they have at the moment.

Even if Mbeumo doesn’t look like an essential signing, he makes sense as the kind of in-form attacking player who could add new spark to Slot’s side as they look to compete for major honours like the Premier League and the Champions League.

Manchester United are reportedly closing in on hiring Sporting Lisbon manager Ruben Amorim, but it seems Brentford boss Thomas Frank is also still on their list.

This is according to a report from the Times, who suggest a deal is edging closer for Amorim to make the move to Old Trafford, with current interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy only set to take charge of the Red Devils for one game.

It seems Amorim is looking the most likely to replace Erik ten Hag, but perhaps it’s not 100% done yet as the Times claim Frank is also a candidate United like.

For now, everything points towards Amorim getting the job, but it will be interesting to see if there are any late snags that could pave the way for Frank to come in instead.

Ruben Amorim to Manchester United – what we know so far

Amorim seems the clear favourite to take over as United manager, with sources telling CaughtOffside earlier today that an official announcement could be imminent.

Sources have also informed CaughtOffside about Manchester City’s interest in Amorim, with the Portuguese tactician instead choosing to take the offer from MUFC now instead of waiting for the Etihad Stadium vacancy opening up, with Pep Guardiola still in charge for the foreseeable future, even if he is nearing the end of his contract.

CaughtOffside also understands that United star Bruno Fernandes is happy with the move to appoint Amorim, and one imagines there’ll generally be a positive feeling now in what has seemed like a dressing room low on morale during much of Ten Hag’s reign.

United take on Leicester City in the Carabao Cup tomorrow night, and that will probably be Van Nistelrooy’s only game in charge of the club, with Amorim perhaps set to be in place to manage the team by the weekend, though Frank could be another strong candidate after the fine work he’s done at Brentford.

Arsenal are reportedly considering a potential transfer move for in-form Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo, according to former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown.

The Gunners are thought to be keen on the versatile Cameroon international who can provide depth across the front three and help take the workload off someone like Bukayo Saka, whose had injury problems this season after playing so many games.

Speaking to Football Insider, Brown named Mbeumo as a player Arsenal are keen on, though he also expressed the view that a January deal could be difficult as Brentford won’t want to sell such an important player in the middle of the season.

Still, Brown explained that he could see Arsenal trying their luck with a deal like this as they’ve done similar in the past when they brought in Leandro Trossard from Brighton in January 2023.

Bryan Mbeumo transfer: Should Arsenal make a move in January?

Arsenal fans will surely be keen to see their club strengthen as soon as possible as they’ve not had the smoothest start to the season, largely because of injuries.

The way Mbeumo is playing at the moment, it’s easy to see the 25-year-old having a positive impact at the Emirates Stadium.

“I’ve heard Arsenal have been looking at him,” Brown said. “I can see that move being a possibility.

“They’ve done deals like that in the past when they signed Trossard for example, who have come in and benefitted their squad.

“He’s done fantastically well for Brentford not just this season but for a long period now.

“With the injury issues Saka has faced, it’s shown they need depth in that area.

“Mbeumo could provide that, but they also like the fact that he can play across the front three and provide cover behind the striker too.

“His goalscoring record has been brilliant this season and I don’t think Brentford would entertain an offer in the middle of the season, but he could be one to watch next summer.”
