This year’s Agile2025 conference marked a turning point for Agile Alliance and for the community we serve. For more than two decades, our annual conference has been a place where practitioners, thought leaders, and innovators come together to learn, share, and inspire one another. In 2025, we took bold steps to reimagine what that experience could look like — and the response has been overwhelmingly positive.
Building bridges
Perhaps one of the most significant changes was the presence of our friends at the Project Management Institute and our work to strengthen our bond with the PMI community. Together, we unveiled our new co-branded logo and offered PMI courses immediately following the conference. Our shared booth was a vibrant hub of connection, underscoring how collaboration between our communities can expand knowledge, skills, and impact. Thank you to the entire team at PMI for your work to make this event and this transition successful!

Evolving the format
In terms of significant changes, we are excited about successfully transitioning from a five-day to a three-day program. This was not a decision we made lightly. We knew it would impact travel, networking, and learning patterns, and we listened closely to our community as we considered the shift. The results? Nearly 80% of post-conference survey respondents affirmed that the three-day format was the right move. Attendees appreciated the focused schedule, the energy in the program, and the balance it provided for professional development and personal commitments.

Expanding our focus
Agile2025 also marked the launch of our work on enterprise agility — a theme that resonates strongly with leaders striving to scale agility across their organizations. Through sessions, discussions, and follow-up opportunities, we began building a framework to support this important work, and we are excited about the road ahead. Learning and inspiration
Our three keynote speakers set the tone with thought-provoking, inspiring talks that challenged us to think differently. Thank you, Jay Kiew, Tricia Broderick, and Jurgen Appelo, for sharing your perspective and wisdom with our group.

The program was equally strong, with sessions that delivered both practical insights and fresh perspectives addressing your real-world programs. And they covered it all – from artificial intelligence (THE 2025 hot topic) to a Hackathon (where a volunteer team created working software for a local non-profit) to turning your failures into growth (a topic that is relatable for all). And while the conference technically ended on Wednesday, Agile Alliance hosted a Reimagining Agility workshop on Thursday, inviting participants to co-create what agility could look like in the years ahead. Look for more on these sessions in the coming weeks.

Looking ahead
Agile2025 reminded us that evolution is not only possible — it is necessary. By experimenting, listening, and adapting, we can continue to provide value that meets the changing needs of our members and the broader Agile community. I am deeply grateful to everyone who joined us this year and contributed to making Agile2025 a success. And a special thank you to our Agile2025 Program Team: Chris Murman, Semira Allen, Reese Schmit, and Nayan Hajratwala, and to all of our incredible track chairs. And thank you to our wonderful group of volunteers led by Stephanie Merkel and Jay Howland. You all made it happen!

The momentum we’ve built together will carry the association and the industry into the next chapter of Agile and Agile Alliance. I’m excited to see how the community continues to grow and evolve in the years ahead!
