It’ll probably come as little surprise to many that Ruud van Nistelrooy is being linked with a host of top Premier League jobs.

The Dutchman is now looking for a new role after his short tenure as Manchester United interim manager came to an end.

Van Nistelrooy caught the eye after taking over from Erik ten Hag, warming up the dugout for Ruben Amorim with three wins and a draw from four matches.

United scored 11 goals in his four games in charge; two more than they managed in Ten Hag’s final eight matches.

Van Nistelrooy’s work has now seen him linked with West Ham United, who are struggling under summer arrival Julen Lopetegui.

Meanwhile, relegation battlers Wolves, Southampton and Crystal Palace are among those who are rumoured to be considering new managers. The likes of Steve Cooper and Sean Dyche are only a bad run away from coming under immense pressure at Leicester and Everton, respectively.

However, former Palace chairman Simon Jordan has warned Premier League clubs against opting for Van Nistelrooy — who won KNVB Cup and Johan Cruyff Shield titles during a 51-game spell in charge of PSV Eindhoven.

“If you are Wolves, Palace, Southampton or Leicester and you decide to change your manager, would you look at Ruud van Nistelrooy or would you look at David Moyes?” said Jordan (via TBR).

“I couldn’t see any of those clubs realistically going down the Ruud van Nistelrooy route.”

Jordan further explained: “I don’t think he’s done anything at Man Utd. Three or four games, two of them against Leicester? Against PAOK, in the Europa League? Come on, give me a break.

“I don’t think there is anyone in the Premier League who has got a serious problem is going to turn around and say; ‘You managed to get this [Man United squad] playing decently [so you deserve a chance at another club]’.”

Facundo Buonanotte has been one of the standout players for Leicester this season, and transfer expert, Graeme Bailey, has unpacked what his future at the club is likely to look like.

The Foxes haven’t had the best start to their 2024/25 season, and are currently sat in 15th position in the Premier League.

Steve Cooper’s side have only won two of their 11 games, and their total of 10 points places them just three above the bottom three.

Facundo Buonanotte’s Leicester future unpacked

Though there’s plenty of time for the Midlands-based outfit to pull themselves out of trouble, falling through the trap door straight back down to the Championship isn’t beyond the realms of possibility either.

To that end, Buonanotte’s form has been a real boost for the club – though it’s unlikely to last beyond the current campaign.

“Leicester would love the chance to keep Buonanotte long-term, firstly it would it would indicate they have stayed in the Premier League, but they know even them staying up will not see him staying,” transfer expert, Graeme Bailey, told Leicester City News.

“Buonanotte is regarded very highly by Brighton, there has even been interest in his displays from the likes of Tottenham and Borussia Dortmund, but Brighton are making it clear that they have no intention of even listening to an approach for Buonanotte. He is not for sale.”

Supporters of the Foxes will therefore hope that for the remainder of the time they have left with Buonanotte in the side, his top form continues.

Even if he remains their go-to player, the Argentinian can’t be expected to do everything on his own.

Before Buonanotte gets to play against his parent club on December 8, the Foxes have fixtures against Chelsea, Brentford and West Ham United.

After that series of games, Leicester will be almost a third of the way through the season and will likely have more of an idea of how things are going to go for the rest of the campaign.

Steve Cooper is reportedly under pressure at Leicester City and with uncertainty around the Welsh coach’s future, the Foxes have been linked to former Premier League “Big Six” managers Graham Potter and David Moyes.

The board at the King Power Stadium are believed to growing increasingly impatient with Leicester’s current situation as the Premier League side sit 15th in the standings having won just two of their opening 11 matches.

The Foxes have also been eliminated from the EFL Cup after suffering a hammering at the hands of Man United.

Leicester have not won any of their last four matches but that followed back-to-back Premier League wins. Cooper is doing the job he is expected to do at present as the former Nottingham Forest coach did not see many talented players arrive at the club during the summer.

Staying up is the objective for the 2016 Premier League champions and so far, Cooper is on course to achieve this.

Former Premier League “Big Six” managers linked with Steve Cooper’s job at Leicester City

With Cooper’s future in doubt, Football Insider reports that Graham Potter and Davies Moyes would both be interested in taking over at Leicester.

Moyes has been out of work since leaving West Ham at the end of last season, while Potter has spent over a year out of the game since he was sacked by Chelsea in April 2023. Both have been waiting for the right project to come along and it is reported that the role at the King Power Stadium interests both British coaches.

Fans of the Foxes are likely to be more excited by the links to Potter as the former Chelsea coach’s style of play is more appealing, however, the success Moyes had at West Ham cannot be overlooked, especially given the Hammers’ current struggles.

Man United ended Ruud van Nistelrooy’s time at Old Trafford with a comfortable 3-0 win over Leicester City on Sunday and the pick of the goals was the strike of Alejandro Garnacho.

Man United entered the halftime break 2-0 ahead of the Foxes as Bruno Fernandes starred at Old Trafford on his 250th appearance for the club. It would take until the 82nd minute for the home side to add a third and it came courtesy of a wonderful strike from Garnacho.

Many fans of the Manchester club noticed that the Argentina star didn’t celebrate his goal and it has now been revealed why.

According to The Telegraph, the 20-year-old refused to celebrate scoring for Man United against Leicester after accusing fans of losing faith in him this season.

The youngster had a run-in with a Man United fan ahead of the Red Devils’ Europa League clash with PAOK last Thursday, in which the Argentine footballer shut the rude supporter down.

“Garnacho, you got to pass better today, please,” the so-called United fan said to Garnacho.”Pass better score a goal and work on your first touch, yeah?

The 20-year-old clearly didn’t like the man’s attitude and quickly put him in his place, hitting back with: “Why are you not playing bro?”

Man United fans have been frustrated with Alejandro Garnacho

Man United fans are frustrated with Alejandro Garnacho’s recent performances but they certainly have not lost faith in one of their most exciting young talents.

The 20-year-old has featured 18 times for the Manchester outfit this season, producing seven goals and four assists. That is a decent return from the winger, however, it does not tell the full story of the Argentina star.

Garnacho’s decision-making has often been poor throughout the 2024/25 campaign and it has led to United missing out on potential goals. There was also an incident against Chelsea where the youngster did not track back, which also annoyed many fans of the Premier League giants.

Man United supporters know they have a top player in the Argentina international, but their annoyance cannot be mistaken for losing faith.

Man United took a 2-0 lead into the halftime break of their Premier League clash with Leicester City, which came courtesy of some Bruno Fernandes magic.

The Manchester club celebrated the 250th appearance of their captain on Sunday afternoon ahead of their match with the Foxes at Old Trafford as the Portuguese star has been a brilliant servant to the Red Devils since arriving from Sporting CP in 2020.

The 30-year-old celebrated the occasion by opening the scoring against Leicester as the midfielder bagged a beauty from just outside of the away side’s box with 17 minutes on the clock.

The Man United captain would also play a role in Ruud van Nistelrooy’s side doubling their advantage before the break as Leicester’s Victor Kristiansen knocked the ball into his own net, making it a very tough task for the Foxes in the second 45 minutes.

Fernandes is one man who has thrived under Van Nistelrooy’s leadership at Old Trafford and it is evident in the midfielder’s stats.

Fernandes was one of many Man United stars criticised for their performances throughout the opening phase of the 2024/25 campaign as the Red Devils squad struggled for form under Erik ten Hag. However, since the Dutch coach’s sacking, the Portuguese international has been on fire.

According to Squawka, the 30-year-old had not scored in his opening 13 matches under Ten Hag; since Van Nistelrooy took interim charge of the Manchester outfit, the 30-year-old has scored four goals across his last four matches.

The Dutch coach seems to have brought the best out of his captain and that has been to the benefit of United as the Red Devils have not lost a game in the lead-up to Ruben Amorim taking over at Old Trafford.

Tottenham Hotspur have set their sights on the move in 2025 for Argentine playmaker Facundo Buonanotte, who is enjoy a fine start to the Premier League season with Leicester City. The 19-year-old, who is currently on loan at the King Power Stadium from Brighton and Hove Albion, has three goals and two assists in nine appearances so far this campaign.

Buonanotte left Brighton during the summer in order to play regular first team football. He was linked with Feyenoord and Celtic, but he opted to remain in the Premier League with Leicester, whom he has thrived with the last three months.

His form has led to transfer speculation increasing, and Tottenham are one of the clubs that have registered their interest. There has been doubts about the performances of James Maddison in recent weeks, and Buonanotte is someone that could compete sufficiently with the England international.

Brighton determined to keep Buonanotte as asking price set

According to Fichajes, Brighton would only consider selling Buonanotte if they were to receive an offer of €50m – this is significantly higher than his market valuation, which is set at €18m. Nevertheless, it shows how highly the teenager is valued at the AMEX Stadium, where he has been (prior to this season) since joining from Rosario Central in January 2023.

Leicester are also interested in signing Buonanotte on a permanent basis, although Tottenham would surely be favourites in a bidding war. If they do pursue a move in 2025, it could end up being a very busy time for Spurs, who have also been linked with other Premier League stars in recent weeks.

Leicester City might have to smash their transfer record to sign Facundo Buonanotte permanently.

According to the CIES Football Observatory, the 19-year-old is valued at around £48.4 million, and it will be interesting to see if Leicester City decide to make a move for him at the end of the season. The player has been linked with Liverpool as well.

The 19-year-old is currently on loan at the King Power Stadium from Brighton. He has been exceptional with his performances for the Foxes, and it would not be a surprise if Leicester tried to sign him permanently.

Buonanotte is a prodigious young talent with a bright future. He has added pace, flair and unpredictability to the Foxes’ attack. The attacker has been one of the best players for Leicester this season and he has scored three goals and picked up two assists for them.

The fans will certainly hope for the club to sign the player permanently, and it will be interesting to see how the situation develops.

The South American has all the qualities to develop into a star for Leicester City in the future, and it will be interesting to see if they are prepared to break the bank for him. They spent around £40 million on Youri Tielemans and the Belgian midfielder remains the club-record signing for now.

It remains to be seen whether Leicester are ready to go the extra mile for Buonanotte.

The 19-year-old is a prodigious talent with a bright future ahead of him and regular football in the Premier League could help him fulfil his tremendous potential. He needs to play regularly at this stage of his career and if the Foxes can guarantee him first-team action, he could be tempted to make the move permanent.

He has the ability to justify the investment in the long term as well.

Leicester City could be offered the opportunity to sign Tottenham star in the January transfer window.

The Foxes are currently sitting in 15th position in the league and struggling to perform in the Premier League.

Manager Steve Cooper is facing an uncertain future at the club and a few results going against him could cost him his job.

Leicester were active in the summer transfer window in strengthening their squad and made nine additions to the team. However, that has still not worked in their favour and they are finding it hard to produce results.

Football pundit Carlton Palmer has tipped Leicester to make a move for Tottenham star Archie Gray.

Since joining the club from Leeds United in the summer, the player has only played 41 minutes in the Premier League.

He is struggling to settle at the top level and manager Ange Postecoglou has little faith in the player at the moment.

Palmer believes that a Premier League club could make a move for Gray and that would help the player in regaining his confidence.

While speaking to Football League World, Palmer said:

“He’s highly rated, but his game time has been affected, he hasn’t had enough game time. He has only played 393 minutes of action in all competitions so far this season, so the question remains, will they let him go out on loan?

“If they do let him go, Leeds may have just missed out on his return with Premier League clubs interested. It would be a great bit of business if they could pull it off, but there will be lots of competition for the midfielder.

“I don’t think he’d want to go to the likes of Southampton, who are struggling, maybe Leicester City, who are just outside the drop.”

Leicester City move could revive Archie Gray’s career

The 18-year-old Gray has only made 10 appearances for the club this season and since joining the club in a big money move, he has failed to make an impact at Tottenham.

Spurs have a number of options in the midfield and in the full-back positions and Gray is way down the pecking order at the moment.

A move to Leicester, where he would get more playing time than what he is getting at Spurs, might be able to revive his career and give him the push he needs to perform in the Premier League.

Crystal Palace, Fulham, Leicester City and Nottingham Forest are all on alert as Mathys Tel looks set to be made available to sign on loan from Bayern Munich in the upcoming January transfer window.

The talented young Frenchman is struggling for playing time at Bayern at the moment, though CaughtOffside understands that the club still view him as a key part of their long-term future.

Tel could perhaps benefit from a temporary spell away from the club so he can get more first-team minutes under his belt, and a host of Premier League clubs would be ready to bring him in until the end of the season.

Sources with a close understanding of the situation have told CaughtOffside that Palace, Fulham, Leicester and Forest are all keen on Tel, who was previously also approached by Manchester United.

Man Utd are not thought to be among the clubs looking at the 19-year-old now, but it does seem his situation has changed to make him available on loan, which could mean other clubs will soon join the long list of potential suitors for him.

Some initial talks have taken place, but Bayern remain adamant that Tel is not available on a permanent transfer, and ultimately the final decision on a January move will rest with the player.

Mathys Tel transfer could be smart business for struggling Premier League clubs

Palace could do really well to land Tel this winter if possible, with Oliver Glasner’s side making a really poor start to the season.

The Eagles could find themselves in a relegation battle if they don’t improve soon, and signing a top young talent like Tel for their attack could help them a lot in the second half of the season.

Eddie Nketiah has flopped since joining Palace from Arsenal in the summer, so a goal threat like Tel coming in could be crucial to lift this team away from the danger zone.

In truth, United are having a pretty dire season as well and look weak up front, so a few of their fans might even wonder if they should be in the running for Tel again.

It could be a gamble, but at the moment it’s hard to see Tel being any worse than Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee up front.

Manchester City remain innocent until proven guilty of any of the 115 charges being levied against them, however, their Premier League opponents will sue them if they are, ultimately, found guilty.

The fall out from the case which is currently ongoing could change the face of English football as we know it.

Man City could be sued for many millions by EPL clubs

An unprecedented punishment against the Cityzens has already been mooted, with other potential avenues for taking the serial champions down a peg or two also being discussed.

Arguably, any and all discussions are irrelevant at this stage given that City haven’t yet been found guilty of a single charge.

Given the severity of the charges, it will take some time before any decision is reached in any event, and were the outcome to be unfavourable to City, there’s some certainty to the club launching an appeal, delaying the outcome even further.

According to The Times (subscription required), a number of Premier League clubs are reserving the right to seek compensation for lost earnings were City to be found guilty.

Man City’s former financial advisor had a lot to say about the outcome of the ongoing trial. Find out what he said here!

Essentially, some clubs will have been denied the right to finances that a title win would’ve seen them achieve, and/or the prize money involved in qualifying for the latter stages of European competitions.

There is a need for those clubs to protect their positions now given that its understood they could be time barred from doing so if they wait until the end of the trial and/or a subsequent appeal.

Any potentially successful cases against City would cost the club many millions of pounds, though the loss of prestige would be far more humbling for the club.

Such scenarios may not even come to pass if City’s legal team manage to ensure that the club’s name, and that of their directors emerge successfully from the case.
